The goal of Waterloo EMC Services is to provide the Knowledge and Guidance to design electronic products that do not interfere with radio services, and that will operate in the electronic environment that exists in most cities today.

Most countries have regulations in place that limit the amount of radio frequency energy that products can emit in order to protect most licensed radio services (if interference does occur then it must be fixed immediately or the product removed from the market).

Europe and several other countries have also mandated a level of immunity to outside events to ensure proper operation of products in typical  environments.
